If you can identify and reach out personally to a specific group of potential readers, then you are a niche marketer.

Niche marketing is probably the best way to get into internet marketing; it is however, not a difficult process and not very different from general marketing as you are selling to the same people and probably selling similar products.

So what then is the difference?

Choosing a niche is easy enough to do but finding one which does not have a lot of competition is getting harder and harder. You need to find an angle, something different, a corner of the market that serves a special area of demand. You are looking for segments that are different, but have the potential to be profitable.

The secret is selling the right products to the right people.Relationship building is therefore vital to build customer loyalty, by producing quality service, you will generate customer satisfaction.

The niche marketer, by virtue of the fact that he or she is slightly different, is unique, not constantly fighting for a place amongst thousands of competing sites.

Study your competition and be aware of how they make their product or service stand out, and from these observations, decide how you can be different by having a unique 'twist', and try to make your service that little bit different.

You must project yourself as an expert in your field, once your niche has been decided and researched, find out as much as you can about your subject, then find the correct keywords to make it profitable. If you can target the right keywords, this will help greatly to make your business soar.

Determining the potential of a niche before doing anything else will save a great deal of time and effort by just picking the first idea that comes into your head.

How do you find your niche?

If you go to Google's keyword tool, you can analise the competition; find the keywords that do not have too much competition. On the other hand, no competition means no one is looking for those particular keywords.Keyword analysis is a vital part of your preparation; spend some time on Google's keyword tool.

When researching keywords, you will soon find many variations of that word or phrase. You then need to narrow them down to a list which is not over competitive (30-70,000 listings is the target area).

A brief example

.- If you Google 'bean bags' you will get about 7 million listings-rather too many to compete with.

-So you dig further and get 130k for 'alligator bean bags'- still too many.

-Now you get 38k for 'large multicolored alligator bean bags'.

These numbers are within our target range, you get my point. You can find a niche for virtually any subject you choose. It's a matter of spending a bit of time doing your research to find a topic which has competition but will allow you to pick one aspect of the topic and run with it.

Once you have selected your successful keyword phrases, go to the search engines and find out where your competitors are, determine the amount if activity, join forums, comment and answer questions. If there is not much competition, you may not have a good niche.

Once finalized, build and promote your website, make a number of informative blog pages with quality content to attract visitors to your site. Build a personal relationship with them to create the confidence for them to buy from you. Build your site with all the information you have gathered.

Obviously, finding the correct niche for your business is the most important step to developing a profitable business

By being selective and entering niche marketing with care, you will stand out from the crowd; you will be filling a gap in the market, a position not covered by the big competitors. By being small and inconspicuous, you will be able to gain a foothold in the market and reap the undoubted rewards that are waiting for you.
